Baby is Two...

How in the world did this little Baby turn 2?! I just don’t even know. It feels like just yesterday I had this little stinker, and now he’s a full-blown toddler (I still can’t say that outloud…even typing it was painful) and it’s just sad!!

Celebrating his birthday yesterday was so fun and I think Baby loved it too! Me and Brett and Dylan surprised Baby by walking into his room singing “happy birthday” first thing in the morning and he did not like it one bit (he burst into tears and was super scared). It was super entertaining but we felt bad lol. After breakfast we took brother to school and then came home and I let Baby watch his favorite youtube videos (which are videos that teach shapes and colors) then he took a 5-hour nap!!! A record for this kid! He needed it man cause our trip to California completely wore him out!

After he woke up we went and picked up Dylan from school, then went to the store, then had Baby’s favorite dinner (Chick-fil-a because chicken nuggets) then we took him to take these birthday photos (since mom is a slacker and thought the 30th was on Thursday and not Wednesday). I decided I wanted to take his photos with some of his favorite things which are: his Baby, balls, Dum-Dums (he can literally eat 5 within 10 minutes) and cars. He totally rocked these pics and right when the camera came out he started just cheesin’ away! I’ve taught him well ๐Ÿ™‚ They only took about 15 minutes to take. He just knows what to do lol!

Then we came home and he got his presents which were a balance bike from me and Brett, and Dylan gave him some monster truck cars he picked out for him at the store earlier that day. Baby loved both so much! Then we sang him his birthday song and Brother helped blow out his cupcake candle, he devoured the frosting on it, then it was time for bed. It was so nice to nurse him to sleep and tell him how much we love him and how grateful we are he’s in our family! I’m sure he had no idea what I was saying but I wanted to let him know, because he truly does bring so much light and laughter into our lives. I don’t know what we ever did without him.

Some fun facts about Baby are:

  • He still goes by “Baby.” I don’t know how we are going to stop calling him that…or if we ever will. Brett and I talk often and wonder “what are we going to call the next one when it gets here? How can we stop calling Baby “Baby?” And then we just never come up with a solution because it’s kind of impossible. He IS Baby. That’s just who he is! He knows it and we know it. So, as of right now, there’s no end in sight to his fun little surname.
  • He learns new words every.single.day. This kiddo is a chatterbox! It’s so fun and crazy to have a toddler who knows how to talk (for those of you who don’t know, by the time Dylan was 2, he could say 2 words and had to be put in speech therapy). So to have a child imitate us constantly and copy every word we say is quite usual, but so fun and exciting and we love it!
  • He loves brushing his teeth and having lotion rubbed onto his face
  • He still loves his “baby” which is is penguin. He calls it baby cause that’s it’s name too. Twins! He still sleeps with it every night and loves to drag him around the house sometimes. And he’s real good at giving him loves too.
  • He is very selective about what he eats. Here’s what his palette will allow: cereal in the morning, fruit snacks, cheese sticks, gogurts, chicken nuggets, peanut butter & honey (or jelly), watermelon, apples, bread, donuts, protein shakes, pancakes, desserts, fries, sprite, candy and water. He’s obviously super healthy and not picky at all (yeah right).
  • His favorite place to be is outside (the opposite of his brother)! He would live out there if he could! His Dad takes him out each night and they pick up the dog poop and he runs and plays. He’s going to love being out there all Summer long.
  • He recently came to find a love of toddler videos on Youtube, and knows how to fully work the Xbox (turn it on, function to which games and apps he wants, plays the games and can turn it off). It’s crazy.
  • He still nurses in the mornings, naps and nighttime and we both love it
  • He loves to pray! For the last 6 months or so, he will randomly fold his arms and say “pray” and we will all pray and he will stay silent and arms-folded the entire time. It’s the sweetest thing, and even if he wants to do it multiple times in a row, we always give in because it’s just adorable.
  • He knows some of his colors (red, green, blue, yellow) and he somehow knows how to count most of 1-10 (I have no idea how because I never taught him that one) lol
  • He’s very social and love to say “hi” and “bye” to everyone and anything he sees
  • His brother is his favorite person and he loves to follow him around, play with brother’s toys, tease his brother and withhold affection because he gets a reaction from Dylan. This kid is super precocious and mischievous. Such a ham!
  • He loves his shoes and loves having them put on
  • He loves and asks to have his hair done and always says he’s “handsome” when it’s complete
  • He just started giving kisses on the actual mouth…for the longest time he would turn and it would be a privilege if you were allowed to kiss his cheek haha!
  • He loves his grandmas and grandpa and talks about them nonstop
  • He just started facing-forward in the car and he’s obsessed
  • He loves playing with cars, flying ships with his brother and loves eating suckers

He’s the cutest of them all, this one. So peppy. So stubborn. So mischievous. So sweet. So funny. So Baby. Levi, we love you!
