My Workout Essentials

Image
Nursing Sports Bra , Wireless Bluetooth Headphones , Tank Tops , Leggings , Running Shoes ,  Thermal Top , Heart Rate Monitor , Water Bottle   If you would’ve told me 5 years ago that working out would become one of my biggest passions, I would’ve called you crazy. Before I had my first baby, I, in the words of Taylor Swift, never ever ever ever worked out. Like ever. I would go through phases of working out for a couple weeks then I would fall out of them and not really care, then do it again a few months later. It was never important enough to me to keep up on. But once Dylan came and the baby weight that came along with him, something had to be done. I was doing Weight Watchers (which was working) but wanted to physically work towards my goal weight as well. And it worked. And once I started, I never stopped. I’ve been working out consistently 3-5 times a week for the last 4 years, and I can honestly say I can’t live without it. It’s an essential pa...

The Softest & Yummiest Sugar Cookies Ever

Image
Last week I got together with my sister and our kids, and I thought it would be a fun idea to make sugar cookies and frost them. I have never found a solid and full-proof sugar cookie recipe where the cookies stayed soft. They have always been soft for the first couple minutes out of the oven, then after a bit they turn into rocks…and nobody (at least not me) likes rock-hard sugar cookies. I like cookies soft, chewy and I like them to stay that way for a few days. I’ve never had such luck when it comes to sugar cookie recipes. We always make them and frost them, then throw them away a couple days later because nobody is eating them. I didn’t want that this time, I wanted yummy cookies that I could take home and actually enjoy. So my sister went on the hunt and found this recipe. We tried it, and oh.my.gosh. you guys! They were SO good! Not only was the dough extremely easy to roll out and handle (not too hard and not mushy or wet whatsoever), but they were SUP...

Dress Love

I have always loved dressing up. It’s something that I have never hated or dreaded like some people do. I used to be all about skirts and cute tops, but since the maxi dress craze started a few years ago I have been all over the trend…it’s honestly almost all I ever wear when I need to get dressed up because they are SO comfortable and flowy and I feel like they make me look taller than I am (hello all the way from down here at 5’3″). But, once I had Levi 4 months ago, it was super tough wearing actual dresses because I am a nursing momma and absolutely love it. I had one dress that would work, but I wore that during pregnancy and it got super stretched out (so sad), so I was back to wearing skirts…which aren’t terrible or anything, but I sure missed the comfort and coverage of my maxi dresses. So I went on the hunt to find nursing-friendly dresses and was able to find one that was the right price, but wanted more than one. I found a few mo...

Welcome!

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! Let me officially welcome you to my new lifestyle blog. I am so stinking excited you are here!! Can I just confess something really fast? I have had this website made for over 2 weeks. 2 WEEKS! I have just been a huge scaredy cat and haven’t launched it. Why you ask? Because I am super nervous for some reason! But they say that the things we want most in life scare us right? So here I go. I can’t tell you how long I have wanted to make my old simple blog into something more, and I am finally doing it! As you will notice, some of the posts from my old blog are here. I have kept the posts that were the most meaningful (and most popular) and brought them to this site. But this site is going to be much more than my old blog was. Here you will find me talking about beauty, food, fashion, my boys, and everything in between 🙂 * I am by no means an expert in any of the above (except for my boys of course), but I love to learn from others about thi...
