Self Confidence + Janela Bay
Hey girlies! Today I am so excited to share these photos with you, and talk about how much I am in love with Janela Bay and their swimwear.

So I need to give you a little tiny backstory first. I know and love so many girls who are just naturally thin. They don’t need to diet, they don’t ever exercise (unless it’s for wanting to build muscle) and they just fit perfectly into anything that is size 0 or 2. I am not one of these girls. I have always felt that my body is of average proportions, and it took me a long time to be okay and confident with that.
When I was first approached to be apart of this collaboration with Janela Bay and my favorite blogger babes, Karli, Abby & Keara, I was a little hesitant. Not because it was a bad company or girls I didn’t like, but because I knew I would be the “biggest” (if you will) girl there. Again, I want to emphasize I don’t see myself as a big girl, but all of these girls are literally so thin in my eyes that I knew that I would stand out. I knew I would have to be okay with that.

I was already on pretty good eating and exercise regimen (I really love to eat well and workout) but I decided to up the game a few weeks before and stop eating all sweets. While that was amazing to accomplish overcoming my sweet cravings, my body didn’t change, and honestly it was totally fine. I was proud of myself for accomplishing that, and knowing I could have the willpower to do it. And it really made me realize that my body, while I can try my best to feed it right and do right by it with exercise, my confidence and self worth truly isn’t measured by my size or by the scale. I knew this before, but it was just a good reminder.

So the day of the shoot came, and it was so much fun. I love these girls, and this swimwear made me feel so comfortable and feel proud to be wearing it around all my friends. Janela Bay has such a unique way of making swimwear that makes every girl feel beautiful and confident. Not once did I worry how I would look next to these beautiful girls, and I felt confident standing next to them.

And not to mention, Janela Bay is local Utah company! How awesome is that? I love supporting small businesses and they are an awesome one. I love their striped one-peice and how it has sleeves. I have never owned swimwear with sleeves before and I can’t tell you how many compliments I’ve had on this suit since I’ve owned it. I also love how they have loads of tops and bottoms that you can mix and match. I totally recommend this shop for any and all body types 🙂
And also, if you haven’t yet, go follow these cute girlies: Karli with Everyday Ellis, Abby with The Classy Giraffe and Keara with Modest Style! They are real, adorable and are just wonderful humans who I am super lucky to call friends.
