Levi's Birthday Shoot + A Love Note

Levi is ONE! I just can’t believe the day has come. I remember when he turned 1 month old and I was so assured because I still had 11 months before his first birthday. And every month that came after that, a little pang in my heart would creep up and grow because I knew that the “one year” mark was slowly but surely coming. And now it’s here; I am so happy because we made it here and it’s been such a fun 12 months, and so sad because time just goes way too darn fast the first year.

To celebrate our little man, I knew I wanted to have a fun cake-smash shoot for him. I had a very specific look in mind, and I went to work to find all the elements I wanted.

First, I searched high and low for the perfect teepee, and I came upon Tnee’s, the cutest little shop that sells children’s decor. I died when I found them, all their stuff is so cute!

Next, I knew I wanted a letter board. I found Retrogram Boards  and I loved that they not only had different color boards, but different sizes.

And lastly I could not wait to have the perfect little smash cake made. I’ve heard that My Sweet Fancy Cakes are amazing, and when I told her my vision, she created it perfectly! I was so impressed when I went to pick it up. It was exactly what I wanted.

I am so excited to share this shoot with you guys. Honestly, the day we had it, basically everything went wrong. I ended up booking the studio for the wrong day weeks before, and we didn’t realize it until 2 hours prior to the shoot. So after panicking and calling several studios, we finally found one. And as if the day couldn’t get any worse, when we got to the studio (that was 30 min from our house) I realized I had forgotten my camera. I was dying. I had to run over to a shop and rent one. But, after that, things went great. Levi was as happy as could be and had so much fun. I love this little dude. He is so animated and just loved every minute.

 

A little love note to you and a little about all you do right now:

 

Oh my goodness little man, how in the world are you ONE? I just can’t believe how fast the time has gone, and I can’t remember life without you in it. You are seriously the biggest ball of sunshine (unless you are hungry or tired, then you turn into a little onry baby) and your smile is contagious. You are crawling like crazy, you love to do the “downward dog” position all of the time (no idea why you love this but it’s the cutest), you are obsessed with your brother, and you still love to nurse. You love it when your Dad or I ask you if you want to “eat.” You immediately stop whatever you are doing, look over at us and start giggling then look at your high-chair. We die every time. You will each a little pouch of baby food without breathing…you basically just chug the entire thing until it’s gone without stopping. It’s the sweetest. You are already a master of going up and down the stairs, and your favorite spot to sneak off to is the bathroom. Peanut Butter is your most favorite food, and you really love peanut butter and jelly. You are amazing at entertaining yourself, love all the toys that make music and sounds, love to play “patty-cake” and you love to bite. You bite my pants all the time because you think it’s funny, you’ll bite my arm to get my attention, you bite any fabric you can get your little teeth on…you are so silly. And we sure love you baby. And you answer to both “Baby” and “Levi.” We call you Baby more I think 🙂 I am so so happy you chose our family. We are the luckiest to have you for forever.
